Good teaching can be defined, identified and observed. Supervision of instruction and evaluation of teacher performanceoccurs for the purpose of helping teachers. Teaching is the most important function of the school, and the principal must monitor the instructional processes. The teacher's professional growth must be intrinsically motivated and their evaluation is a pre-requisite to their professional growth.
